Pac-Man's Keys

I found this on a Top 10 list on GameFAQs at http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/top10/2380.html:

"Not too long ago, keys played a huge role in many, many games. If you wanted to beat your favorite first-person shooter, you would have to find the color-coded keys which correspond to their own doors. If you wanted to beat Resident Evil, you had to find the keys, within keys, which held fragments of other keys that needed to get put back together. Pac-Man is one of the games that features keys but unlike the other examples I blurted out, Pac-Man doesn't have any doors to open. He hasn't got any hands to use the keys either so the only thing to do with the keys, according to Pac-Man's Pac-Logic, would be to eat them. Keys provide the Man with 5,000 points which is half the amount you need to attain an extra life. I suppose it could be argued that keys are used to unlock more play time but eating keys in real life could very well do the opposite."
